All attention will be focused at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend as Kumasi Asante Kotoko clash with Accra Hearts of Oak in match day nine of the Glo Premier league.
The Phobians are slightly tipped as favorites after last week’s impressive 3-0 win against All Stars.
Asante Kotoko on the other hand lost 3-2 to rivals King Faisal but the Club says Ebo Mends’ stay at the Club won’t be determined by Sundays result.
International Relations Officer for Kotoko, Kwame Baah Nuako said the club was doing all it can to win Sunday’s match particularly because the teeming supporters of the club need to be appeased following last 2 – 3 defeat to city rivals Kumasi King Faisal.
He said in the unlikely event the Porcupine Warriors lose to their arch rival, a decision will not be taken on the coach’s future simply on account on that result.
“Sometimes you lose a game and you still tell yourself that your team is developing, so for us we pick one game at a time and the technical team also know that expectations are high.”
Hearts have performed better at the Baba Yara Stadium in recent past and they expect that to continue.
In form Hearts striker Osei Pele says he intends to deepen the woes of Kotoko in his debut Kotoko vs Hearts clash.
He said it was the prayer of every player to impress in a high profile match and he was hoping to do just that.
Meanwhile some fans Joy Sports spoke to believe Hearts will pick up the three maximum points.
In Wa, All Stars will seek to avoid a repeat of last weekend’s poor showing against Hearts of Oak when they host defending Champions Aduana Stars on Sunday.
All Stars now occupy the 8th position on the league table but head coach Maxwell Konadu believes they will recover from their shock defeat to Hearts soon.
Another team that is recovering from a shock defeat last weekend is Kpando Heart of Lions who lost 1-0 at home to Ashgold last week.
Lions face yet another difficult task as they welcome leaders Kessben to the Kpando Park.
Elsewhere, an inspired Ashgold side will engage Berekum Arsenals at the Len Clay Park while bottom side Tudu Mighty Jets play RTU at the El-Wak Stadium.
At the Carl Reindorf Park, Liberty Professionals will host King Faisal as Dwarfs engage visiting New Edibiase.
Black Satellites Coach Orlando Wellington will take charge of his first game at Chelsea of Bechem against B.A Stars.
