Ghana’s national Under 17 team the Black Starlets showed glimpses of the preparedness to conquer Africa and the world next year with a convincing 3-0 victory over stubborn Mandela Soccer Academy at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Two goals from Aminu Mohammed and Emmanuel Toku ensured that the Starlets preparation towards next Year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations contiued on the right path.
The match which was fixed by the Volta River Authority towards the Peace Campaign being preached by former Black Stars Captain
Stephen Appiah’s was also to test the Starlet’s preparedness ahead of their qualifying tie against Liberia later this month.
The Starlets have been in camp the past couple of months and are determined to conquer Africa and the rest of the world.
Mandela Soccer Academy started off brilliantly and should have taken the lead under five minutes with Patmos Arhin missing from close range when he only had the goalkeeper to beat.
The Starlets rest shook off the threat of their opponents and responded in brilliant fashion with hardworking Aminu Mohammed striking twice late in the first half and Emmanuel Toku putting gloss on an efficient performance.
A not too satisfied Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin insisted that his boys played below par and should have scored a lot more.
“We will go back and correct the mistakes and tweak our goal scoring efficiency for the better, he said”.
