Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi insists the technical team and the playing body have resolved to win the league title in the second round, adding that the fans must also give the team full support for his side to accomplish the league dream.
The Phobians returned to training on Monday to begin preparation for the second round of the 2016 Ghana Premier League, having finished fourth on the log at the halfway stage of the season.
Hearts started the league with a simple but effective style before unleashing the flamboyance in match-day 4 and 5 against Bechem United and Inter Allies FC to jump to the summit of the league log.
But they were quickly brought down to earth by Wa AllStars, who beat Hearts in Accra, to snatch top-spot from Kenichi’s side.
However, Hearts returned to the summit of the table after match-day 11 when they broke their Golden City Park jinx by defeating Berekum Chelsea.
Kenichi’s side lost the grip atop the log in the last three games by losing to Liberty at home and drawing with Aduana and Dreams away from home before the first round ended.
The team is leaving no stone unturned as they returned to training on Monday, but after three days of full-training, Hearts Head Coach, says the target is to win the league title come the end of the second round.
“I set my personal targets and the players agreed that our target for the second round is winning the league title,” Kenichi told facebook.com/accraheartsofoak.
“Anything less than winning the league title, I will consider it as a failure. So we are making full effort to win the title and we would like to accomplish that together with our supporters.”
