Sulley Ali Muntari’s apology has been the topical issue for most Ghanaians with varied opinions on him.

While others have clearly ruled out any chance of the former AC Milan playing with the Black Stars, others clearly feel there is still some good to come from the midfielder as Ghana aim to end their 33 year wait for an African Cup of Nations title.

Those in and around the Black Stars have clamored for his return stating he will be a useful addition asking Ghanaians to forgive him.

Captain Asamaoah Gyan trailed the blaze by asking Ghanaians to forgive the remorseful Muntari.

Now, former teammate and skipper of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah has joined this chorus asking for forgiveness for Muntari. For him, Muntari still has a lot to offer Ghana.

“I have read the apology letter and Muntari has realized what he did was wrong and that for me was the important thing. He still has a lot of football in him and I believe he can still help the national team. I am happy he has apologized and for me, he has done the right thing.”

Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye shares similar sentiments with our football captains stating Muntari does deserve a second chance.

“Sulley Muntari’s letter of apology is a step in the right direction, As a nation, we all must accept blame for what happened in Brazil. We can’t use Sulley as a scapegoat because we all contributed to what happened there. For  him to have realized what he did was wrong and apologize for me is enough. We all sin and Sulley is just like all of us so we should give him a second chance.”

The man with the final say on all this is Avram Grant, if he decides Muntari will be a key piece in his tactical jigsaw, we will have to go with that decision because Ghanaians have a common objective and that is to win the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
