Kumasi Asante Kotoko romped past the Stephen Appiah led world XI by four goals to one at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first part of the Vodafone Unity Match..
The game, put together by Primeval Media in conjunction with Ex Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, was aimed at promoting and educating Ghanaians on the need for peace before, during and after the general elections in November.
Former Liverpool and Leicester forward , Emile Heskey exhibited all the strength and physique which made him a handful in his playing days as he held off Kotoko defender Evans Quao after receiving a pass from Stephen to power a shot pass the helpless Felix Annan.
Kotoko restored parity through new signing, Emmanuel Osei Carlos, who slotted the ball past Richard Kingson after some good work down the flank by Burkinabe Halipha Sodogo who was a handful for the World XI with his pace and trickery.
Substitute Bennett Ofori put in a stupendous second half performance to bag a hat trick against a visibly tired World XI.
The highlight of the hat trick being a placed shot from distance to beat a hapless Abukari Damba who replaced Richard Kingson in goal.
The Unity train next stops at the Accra Sports Stadium when the World XI face the Black Stars.
