The Kumawu Circuit Court has fined a 48-year-old farmer, 500,000 cedis for failing to attend communal labour at Besoro near Kumawu in the Sekyere East district.
Kwasi Addo, alias Joe pleaded guilty. The court issued a bench warrant for the arrest of six other persons who are at large for similar offence.
Police Inspector Daniel Ntow told the court presided over by Frank Owusu-Afriyie that on February 27 this year, Addo and the others failed to participate in the communal labour organized by the unit committee of the town to construct a toilet facility without any tangible explanation.
A report was therefore made to the Bodomase police who arrested Addo and after investigation charged him with the offence.
