The Cocoa Processing Company said it will be in position to produce a lot more chocolate and cocoa products once it completes ongoing rehabilitation of its factory in Tema.
Officials say the capacity would be boosted almost three times from about 900 to about 2,500 tonnes a year.
The factory has remained shut for the past six months to allow for rehabilitation work which they say was long overdue.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the CPC, Ekow Rhule, one of the principal reasons for the move was to enable them meet increasing market demand.
Golden Tree Chocolates have just about disappeared from the shelves following the shutdown of the factory.
Production is however expected to resume before the end of October.
