President John Evans Atta Mills has pledged that the government will do all it can to enhance Ghana’s appeal as an investment destination.
Addressing investors at an investment forum in Japan the president said the world has come to the realisation that economies such as Ghana’s would not develop on government-to-government aid alone but that there is the need for private investment.
President Mills, who is on a four-day state visit to that country told the investors Ghana would need the support of those who have already blazed the trail to help it achieve its developmental goals.
“We in Ghana are determined to ensure that people who come to do business in our country are given a free hand. We are fighting corruption, we know that in certain countries, before you can even begin your business, you have to pay your indirect taxes, [but] we do not want this kind of situation to go on,” he said.
