WAFA midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has undergone surgery in Belgium to correct a knee injury.
The enterprising midfielder has been sidelined for close to two months after suffering the injury.
Ashimeru is expected to be out for six months and if all goes to plan, he should be available for the second round of the league.
A statement on the club's website read: "The talented youngster went under the knife yesterday (Friday) at the AZ Monica Hospital in the city of Antwerp
"Dr.Geert Declercq, famous specialist and also doctor of the Belgium national team, performed the operation.
"Ashimeru will spend close to six weeks on the sidelines to recovery fully fit."
