Mr George Andah, formerly of MTN Ghana, has been appointed the Chief Marketing Officer for Bharti Airtel’s Nigeria operations.
A statement issued Wednesday stated that Mr Andah will be responsible for developing the marketing strategy, enhancing revenue & customer market share, developing innovative products and nurturing the brand in Nigeria.
Mr Andah has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and brand management in the telecom and fast moving consumer goods sectors.
He served as the Chief Marketing Officer for MTN Ghana for over three years.
Prior to joining the telecommunications industry, he worked for Guinness Breweries and SG-SSB Bank Ltd.
George holds a Bachelor of Science degree and MBA (Marketing). He was also recognized by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ghana as Marketing Practitioner of the Year 2009.
In 2010, he was elected as a member of the Chief Marketing Officers Council for Africa.
Bharti Nigeria CEO Rajan Swaroop said in the statement “we are delighted to have George on board and believe that his experience will be invaluable as we build a stronger connection with our customers in Nigeria,” wishing him the very best in his new assignment.
