Cosmos Dauda believes Hearts’ 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in match-day 11 of the 2016 Ghana Premier League was a fair reflection of the game.
The Phobians sat back in the closing stages of the game after getting the opener through Samuel Yeboah, and they defended brilliantly to return to the capital with all the three points.
Hearts went close to doubling the lead in the last quarter of the game through Foovi Aguidi and Cosmos Dauda, but the result remained a solitary goal victory to the Rainbow club.
And Hearts’ leading scorer in the league with four goals says the result was a true reflection of the game.
“It was a great game. We stuck to the plan and we are all happy we came out with the victory,” Dauda told Facebook.com/accraheartsofoak.
"I think the result is a fair reflection of the game because we put a lot into it, by trying to bounce back from our defeat against our bitterest rivals. I think it’s good to get the win and it was a collective effort.”
Dauda was in awe-inspiring form a fortnight ago in Obuasi, scoring a brace to help the team to record-breaking victory over Ashantigold. But the striker has not scored in two match-days though he has had better chances than the ones he buried at the Len Clay.
“That is football,” the striker admitted. “You will sometimes score; sometimes too you will not score.
"But I am still working hard because there are more matches ahead and subsequently the goals will come around.
"I believe the goals can come one, two, or three on any occasion so I am working hard – that is all.”
He also assured the fans the players will better their home performances in the coming game.
“Our fans are the best. We love them. We apologize to them for letting them down in our home ground,” Dauda continued. “But we hope to put up better performances by gaining good numbers in our home ground and giving them the maximum three points when we play there.”
