The Eastern Regional Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), Richard Amofa, has denied allegations that employees under the programme have not been paid.
He said with the exception of the health extension workers who were undergoing training, all others had been paid their salaries up to April.
The Regional coordinator made this known at Koforidua, following rumours that employees under the various modules of the NYEP had not been paid any salary.
He said those rumours were being used by a section of the public to discredit the programme and reiterated that the essence of the programme was to create jobs for the youth.
Mr Amofa said there might be delays in the payment of salaries but explained that it was not a deliberate action as being created by a section of the public.
