Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Isaac Opeele Boateng has jumped to the defence of under-fire coach Ebo Mends after a false start in the Glo Premier League.
Kotoko fans have intensified calls for the removal of Ebo Mends after opening day 1-0 defeat to Kessben FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Opeele Boateng says Asante Kotoko’s enemy is within its fraternity.
He enumerated a multiplicity of factors that has accounted for the strings of poor result by the Kumasi based club.
“Kotoko’s problem is based on a whole lot of issues. The society is part of it. People in Kumasi wake up, think and talk about the club. It puts lots of pressure on people working for the club.
"People who have been part of the club before and went away also feels bad or have a pain about how they went out from the club," he said.
There is no competition within the playing body he said, because some of the players see themselves as demigods who cannot be touched.
