Asante Kotoko are keen on reclaiming their past glory on the continent after winning the African Club Championship in 1970 and 1983.
The 21-time Ghana Premier League champions were recently named the continent’s club of the century by the International Football Federation of History and Statistics following their success in the continental club competitions.
The Porcupine Warriors, who celebrated their 75th anniversary Tuesday, are rounding up their preparations for the start of the Premier League on Sunday.
Spokesperson of Asante Kotoko, Jarvis Peprah tells Joy Sports he expects his side to intensify its efforts to secure the set target.
“We are so overwhelmed by what the club has been able to achiev for the past 75 years especially when only last year we were named as Africa club of the century.
“We’ve won the league many more times than any other club. So this achievement tells us that the 75 years has not been wasted. We still have a lot to achieve.
“We should be back as the champions in Africa probably go on into the World Club championship and win that one as well,” he assured.
