Ghana’s striker Asamoah Gyan says his record move to the English premiership is a long held dream come true.
Gyan signed a record £13 million move to Sunderland on the last day of the European transfer window after successfully completing his medicals.
He told Joy Sports’ Ridwan Ibrahim Asante minutes after signing the deal that the move excites him, more so when he will be moving closer to his family.
“It is like a dream come true to me because I was hoping to play in England and finally I am in England and I really happy for that,” he said.
He touted the English Premiership as the best league in the world and believes he will live up to expectation.
"It is the best league in the World. Every players wants to play in the premiership and i have gotten the oppotunity to be here so i am very happy," he said.
“I am focused and ready to deliver because as a record signing in a club like Sunderland much will be expected from me. It is like a challenge to me and I have to work hard and make everybody happy.
He expects an injury free season to bring the best out of him.
