Head coach of AshantiGold says he is not convinced the team will get fair officiating in the upcoming league season.
David Duncan believes his team is always a contender for the league title but ends up losing to some of the top clubs under dubious circumstances.
The tough-talking coach bad-mouthed referee Samuel Gyasi through out the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Cup match between Ashgold and Hearts of Oak, a match the miners eventually won on penalties.
David Duncan told Myjoyonline.com he was “angry” with the outcome of the match. He believed AshGold should have won before regulation time.
“I feel angry. It should have been over within the stipulated time. I made a passionate appeal before this particular game that I do not trust the local referees. Not that they aren’t good but when it comes to matches involving clubs like Accra Hearts of Oak something runs through my mind," he told Myjoyonline.com.
On his forecast about the upcoming season, David Duncan was equally pessimistic, saying AshGold will only compete but certain machinations might deny them of the trophy.
“We will compete as we have always done. We are always contenders but I don’t know what happens as far Ghana Football is concerned.
“A lot of things have to be done and I don’t know where it will end up.
