Ghana's Under-17 team were denied at least a point in the crucial first round qualifying for the African U-17 Championship against Zambia.
The Black Starlets will need to win the second leg in a fortnight's time in Accra after losing the reverse game 2-1 in Lusaka on Sunday.
John Nyamekye's second half strike was not enough to secure a point for Frimpong Manso's Black Starlets as the Junior Chipolopolo scored both goals in the first half.
Moses Phir opened the scoring on six minutes before Emmanuel Phiri added the second on the 20 minute mark.
The 2011 African Under-17 championship will be hosted by Rwanda.
