Ghana's utilization of funds assigned for the Goal Project and the general development and management of the game has been commended by Fifa as the Ghana Football Association bids to reach the standards of the big football leagues.
Fifa Development Officer in Charge of West Africa, Sampon Kablan has extolled the GFA's prudent management and commitment to the realisation of targets.
Kablan shared his views when inspecting the level of work done at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, a base co-funded by Fifa and the Ghana Football Association.
Presently, construction work for a multi-purpose dining and conference facility plus a kitchen is nearing completion as the site already has in place a hostel block complex made up of three buildings and two football fields.
The multi-purpose dining and conference facility plus kitchen would be developed on a 784sqm area to accommodate more than 200 people under the Fifa Goal III Project.
Through large Fifa financial support over the years, Ghana has been developing its technical centre in Prampram on a 100 acre land. The FA hopes to complete the masterplan to ease the huge financial commitments expended on the use of other facilities for national assignments.
The first phase of the technical centre at Prampram was built through Goal I Project whiles the money for Goal II Project was invested in the House of Football - the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association in Accra - and the Tema artificial pitch.
Fifa Goal Project is aimed at bridging the gap between the developed and advanced European countries and the under developed nations in Africa, Asia and South America to bring parity.
