Black Maidens book their place for Jordan

Ghana are through to a fifth-straight FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after back-to-back wins over Morocco in the African qualifying campaign.

The Black Maidens thrashed Morocco 6-0 on Saturday at the Accra Stadium to complete a 10-nil aggregate win after recording a 4-0 victory in the first leg a fortnight ago.

A brace from Abdul Rahman Barikisu and strikes from Mukaramma Abdulai, Philicity Aduako, Sandra Owusu Ansah and Grace Asantewaa completed the rout.

Coach Evans Adotey's side will now play at the women's finals in Jordan after picking one of the three qualifying slots for sides on the continent.

Ghana remains the only African country to have reached the semi-finals of the U-17 women's competition after finishing third in thd 2012 World Cup.

The Black Maidens, who were knocked out at the quarter-final stage at the last finals advanced into the second round of the AFrican qualifying after their opponents Sierra Leone pulled out ahead of the first round.

Jordan will host the World Cup from 30 September - 21 October.
