Government is hopeful work will soon commence on government’s affordable housing project to provide some 30,000 units for members of the country’s security agencies.
This follows the passage of the agreements binding the parties by Parliament Tuesday night, albeit without the support of the minority.
Deputy Minister Seth Tekper expressed relief following the passage last night.
“What is left is to sign the agreement and move into the implementation stage. We will have to sit down with STX and go through the details of the transaction and implement it,” he told Joy Business.
STX Chief Executive B. K. Asamoah is equally happy at the approval of the deal despite the objections raised by the Minority.
"It’s a long journey; it is good for Ghana. The democrats try to express their view. I don’t think we have anything against them. This is not anything new."
Asked what was next for STX Mr. Asamoah said “we need to go work.”
