Black Stars Deputy Skipper, John Mensah, has refuted allegations that he blocked the entrance of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Tuesday to demand his bonuses from the World Cup.
He explained that even though he was at the GFA Tuesday, he did not go there for his bonus or blocked the gate of the GFA.
Speaking to Asempa Sports in Accra Wednesday, John Mensah said he was surprised to hear news he had blocked the GFA entrance, a report he suspects had been done to tarnish his image.
He explained that since he came to Ghana after the World Cup in South Africa, he has not stepped foot at the GFA and that he went there to see Alhaji Hearts.
He explained that Alhaji was in a meeting at the time he got there and reiterated that he did not go there for any bonus.
According to him, if all the players were to take a decision on the bonus, then he would have the right to voice out, but not when all the players have not met to decide on how to claim their bonus.
The Daily Graphic Wednesday published that John Mensah took the most unlikely means of lodging his protest over unpaid bonuses, when he blocked the entrance to the Ghana Football Association with his black 4x4 cross country vehicle for well over 45 minutes, a situation that prevented vehicular movement to and from the GFA premises.
