MATCH SUMMARY

Two second half goals by substitute Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi was all the Phobians needed in their match day two fixture against Medeama SC.

Cosmos Dauda put the visitors in the lead in the 77th minutes after nicking the ball pass Medeama defender Paul Aidoo and beating Muntari Tagoe in post for the home team.

The  goal became a springboard for the Phobians who fired from all angles for more goals which eventually came in injury time courtesy Eric Kumi who connected a Kennedy Appiah's cross.

It was a game which the pundits and soccer lovers predicted a win for Medeama and a draw for Hearts in the worst case scenario, but the

History books which gave the Phobians a draw on their maximum output had to be revised.

Medeama had never lost to Hearts at home since 2011, a record which the Mauve and Yellow were looking to replicate but didn't materialized under the Management of coach Kenichi.

The home team moved straight into the ascendency with some delightfully telepathy between Akwesi Donsu and Benjamin Bature with the latter being brought down in the penalty box by the center referee who had some of his decisions being contested by both supporters.

Both coaches made substitution to the game but it was the Phobians who got the better of the day, scoring two in the second half.

ERIC’S TALKING POINTS

There was an even representation by both teams in the area of support. The stadium was almost filled to capacity with both set of fans firmly behind their team

It was a great game by both teams as they exhibited both defending and attacking prowess. It was a great spectacle for Ghana football.

The Phobians  had the needed stamina to play Medeama who last season used that as an advantage. Kenichi’s men were up for the battle especially after the hour mark

Kenichi was very composed throughout the game. Despite being on the backfoot for large portions of the game, Kenichi kept his team as he was confident of his game plan.

Hearts had some of their board members and chairman coming to watch the game. The MD of Stanbic bank was also present.
