Hearts of Oak continued their fine start to the Ghana Premier League with an efficient performance to beat Medeama 2-0 at the Tarkwa T & A park.Goals from Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi in the last quarter of the game ensured Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s side were one of three teams to maintain a hundred per cent record in the league.Medeama dominated the game for large portions of the game but clearly lacked a cutting edge. Hearts grew stronger into the game as it wore on and their better physical and fitness shape was probably the decisive factor in the game.Hearts looked sharper to every ball and substitute Cosmos Dauda chased down an Eric Kumi through ball to slot home the opener.Kumi rounded off the display with a half volley as Medeama went in search of the leveler. Kumi was however sent off for taking off his jersey celebrating his goal and will miss the midweek tie against Dwarfs.
Dreams FC joined Hearts of Oak with a 100% record after beating Bechem United 1-0 at the Dawu Park.Ben Nash netted the only goal of the game on the stroke of halftime as the natives of Dawu got a glimpse of Premiership action for the first time in 13 years.Dreams missed a host of chances with Emmanuel Lomotey and Eric Gawu being the chief culprits.Bechem’s late surge for an equaliser proved futile as keeper Mozart Adjetey kept them at bay on all occasions.
Aduana Stars received a major blow when their unbeaten home record was thrown out of the window with a shock 1-0 defeat to Wa All Stars.A late strike from Kofi Yeboah ensured the fans of the Dormaa side left the Nana Agyeman Gyawu Park in disappointment.
Aduana are still in search of a win or a goal after losing their opening round of game to Inter Allies.Aduana began the game on a credible note and looked the likelier of the two sides to score first but they fluffed their lines.
A Saddick Adams goal in the first half grabbed all three points for Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.The Berekum side who suffered a defeat on the opening saw a large crowd witness their opening home game of the season were not left disappointed.
WAFA came into the game brimming with confidence but were let down by the surface of the pitch as they were denied the opportunity to play their sleek football.Saddick, who was a lifesaver last week, proved to be the matchwinner this week as he fired past Razak Abalora.
At Dansoman two quick goals in the opening ten minutes ensured Liberty picked all three points against Inter Allies.
Herbert Addo made as many as nine changes to the side that beat Aduana Stars and paid dearly for it as Liberty capitalized on the new look side to fire two quick goals.Kingsley Kissi scored an own goal after failing to handle a ball before young sensation Latif Blessing doubled the lead through a diving header.Substitute Fredrick Boateng pulled one back for the visitors on the hour. Both sides had opportunities to score with the brightest chance falling to Latif Blessing who chipped wide of goal when presented with a one on one opportunity.
