Sekondi Hasaacas overcame the disappointment of last week with a hard fought 4-2 win over Ghana Premier League debutant, Techiman City at the Sekondi stadium on Saturday.
Right back, Amos Korankye started the goal count in the 7th minute, with an intelligent free kick goal from 35 meters. The dead ball was close to the touch line but Korankye still managed to beat goalkeeper Razak Iddrisu.
Eric Bekoe doubled the lead in the 38th minute from the spot after a player of City handled a shot from Emmanuel Ankobea.
The former Ghana League top score, had his brace from a free kick in the 50th minute with a wonderful curling finish from 23 meters.
The visitors however rose from the mud and displayed their version of resilience.
Substitute Roger Nortey capped a good build up play with a great goal from the edge of the box in the 58th minute.
Baba Mahama also showed his quality with a 65th minute strike after a scrappy free kick play. Goalkeeper, George Owu stood unmoved as the ball went past him.
Nerves visibly shown in the play of Hasaacas as their opponent began their dominance with some impressive pressing game.
Issaka Ibrahim, skipper for Techiman City had the best chance to equalize but unluckily, his lob over Owu inside the penalty area hit the post.
The confidence of Yusif Abubakar's side soared higher as Bright Nsiah, twice from direct corner kicks nearly scored but Owu saved both balls with decent efforts.
Hasaacas finally laughed last when striker Samuel Afful relentlessly recovered his lost ball and chipped a cross into the box for substitute Prince Papa Arkoh to head home from close range to cushion their lead.
Captain Daniel Egyin had missed a penalty in the 34th minute when striker Kojo Poku got impeded after taking on defenders.
Altogether, Yusif Basigi walked out as a proud coach but with lot of work to do. At the end of their Match Week 2 Ghana Premier League game, Sekondi Hasaacas 4, Techiman City 2.
