A 20-year-old unemployed man from Afumkrom near Nsawam was on Monday jailed six months with hard labour for stealing a goat valued at GH¢100.
Yaw Apeletey pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
Inspector Anthony Oppong told the court presided over by Mr Twumasi Ankrah that on Monday 20 June at about 1630 hours, Mr Daniel Boye, Unit Committee chairman at Afumkrom was informed that a goat was found in the bush tied with a T-Shirt.
The prosecution said the goat together with the T Shirt was brought to the town and a house-to-house search identified the convict as the owner of the T-Shirt.
Insp. Oppong said Apeletey went into hiding when he heard of the search but was arrested by the Police following a tip off.
The convict admitted the offence in his statement.
