Dreams FC Excutive Chairman Kurt Okraku has explained the rationale behind the GFA’s decision to open a free gate for all football ahead of the Super Cup clash.
Football fans in the country will be offered free entry to Sunday's match between league champions AshantiGold and MTN FA Cup winners Medeama to usher in the new football season.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to open the gates for free to the public for the match.
Executive Committee member of the FA explains the decision to open the gates for free is a goodwill gesture by the GFA to show the federation's appreciation for the support fans have given the game over the past year.
“Football without fans is almost nothing. The FA recognizes the support they have enjoyed from the local fans,” Okraku said
“Without their support, the game will be completely dead in this country.”
“Even in trying times, the fans have always kept faith in the local game so we thought it was wise to show appreciation and encourage them to patronize local football more.”
Both teams will use Sunday’s game as a perfect chance to sharpen their rough edges ahead of next season’s games.
