President John Evans Atta Mills has expressed his excitement at the Black Stars' qualification for the next stage of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
A statement issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Koku Anyidoho, said the President was of the view that the Stars played well as a unit and showed resilience in their game with Germany, despite losing 0-1 to their opponents.
It said President Mills was confident that against the United States on Saturday, the team would perform better to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
The President commended the handlers and the players for the feat, as well as Ghanaians for uniting to support the team to fly high the flag of Ghana.
"As a nation, we must all rejoice in the qualification of the Stars, albeit modestly, so that we do not have any downsides to the celebration," the President said.
