Sulley Muntari is content with a place on the Ghana bench, provided the team continues winning.
The Inter Milan midfielder was an unused substitute during the Black Stars' opening 2010 FIFA World Cup victory over Serbia on Sunday, in part due to a thigh injury.
Andre Ayew stood in for Muntari and is unlikely to be replaced considering his impressive display and the outcome of the match in Pretoria, but the former Portsmouth man says he is happy to wait his turn.
"It was good to see the guys play so well," he said. "It did not matter that I didn't play. The big thing was that we won. I'm now looking forward to helping the guys in our next match against Australia. I'm really looking forward to it."
His coach, Milovan Rajevac, explained that the injury was the main reason he decided against using the 25-year-old. "Muntari was not used because he has been injured for some time," he said.
"He has recovered well but we didn't want to risk him too much. He's a quality player and would do a job for the team when the time comes."
Ghana are the only African team to have won their opening game, with Cote d'Ivoire and South Africa both drawing, and Nigeria and Algeria having lost.
