Ghana winger Christian Atsu has joined Spanish La Liga side Malaga on loan till the end of the season.
This follows an unsuccessful spell at Bournemouth in the English Premier League where he failed to make a league appearance.
Atsu was expected to sign for bottom placed Levante after he granted an interview with the BBC where he all but confirmed his move to the Spanish side.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, he ended up signing for the Eastern Andalusian club
Atsu is expected to be an integral member of Javi Garcia’s squad as the former Porto man is set to fill the void left by Dutch winger Nordin Amrabat who departed for Watford in this transfer window.
Atsu joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013 and has already spent time at Everton and Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem on loan.
The former Porto winger has 42 caps for Ghana and has two more years to run on his Chelsea contract.
This will be the fourth European league Atsu will be playing in after the Portugese Primeira Liga, Dutch Eredivisie and English Premier League.
