There were rumours Monday that Black Stars midfielder, Haminu Dramani had died after a short illness.
Investigations by our sports team however established that Dramani, a member of the initial 30-man Black Stars squad put together by coach Milovan Rajevac for the South Africa 2010 World Cup, was very much alive at his Russia base where he plays for Locomotiv Moscow.
Having convinced ourselves that nothing untoward had happened to the 26-year-old midfielder and therefore decided to discard and indeed, discarded the rumour, a hitherto unknown technical defect in the scripting codes that automatically feeds our mobile news platform however fed our patrons with the unpublished rumour from our database.
Routinely, patrons on our mobile platform are fed news items from publications on our main news pages. Thus, on this occasion, while the rumour never appeared on our news pages, same inadvertently, was briefly visible on mobile.myjoyonline.com.
We have since taken the article down.
We also apologise, unreservedly, to Haminu Dramani for any inconvenience he may have suffered as a result of the unfortunate hitch.
