Deputy Sports Minister Nii Nortey Dua has announced that the first batch government-sponsored football fans to South Africa will leave Accra on Thursday night.
A statement from the Sports Ministry says the second and final batches will depart for Johannesburg on Friday.
Nii Nortey Dua said information on the final list of fans have been sent to the various nominating institutions and organizations, asking persons whose names were submitted to the Planning Committee to check their departure days from their institutions and organizations.
He added that all persons to be a part of the official group of supporters must contact their institutions and organizations to confirm their names on the final list.
“Departure formalities for both flights will start at 7am each day at the Elwak Stadium,” the statement added.
There would be a durbar for all confirmed persons on Wednesday at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium at 2.00pm, the statement said.
