Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed to KickOffGhana.com that he will start Saturday’s international friendly against Latvia and says he is eagerly looking forward to it.
The former German youth international who only joined up with the rest of the Ghana squad for the first time in Paris was kept out of the international friendly against Holland last Tuesday so he could get to understand the team better.
Now he is in line for his first start and is desperate to show Milovan Rajevac what he is capable of doing.
"Ghanaian fans can expect that I would be the field and that I would give a 100 per cent for the team and the whole country and I am looking forward to it," he told KickOffghana.com in an exclusive interview.
Boateng says his integration into the side has been made easy by the warm welcome he received from the rest of the squad.
"I feel very good I feel very welcome, they took me in like family and it wasn’t difficult. It was very good. Hans Sarpei has been very helpful because we speak German and he translates a lot of things. I know him since our days in Germany and it was good for me," he said.
“It was good for me to see how the team acts against Holland and how the coach wants the team to play. It was important for me to see how the team plays and learn from it. I hope I can show the coach on Saturday what I can do and prove that I can fit into the style of play that he wants.”
