Abbey Pobee berates GFA Administrators

Football Administrator and President of Neoplan stars Mr. Abbey Pobee has criticized the current Ghana Football Association administrators for their failure to guide the local league to success.

Speaking on Asempa FM ‘s Ultimate Sports show, Mr Pobee expressed his frustrations over the performance of the football administrators at the GFA claiming they preferred prestige to performing their duties.

Pobee once again pointed a finger at the fragile leadership as the main factor that had curtailed the development of football in the country.

“The Football Association leaders are not doing enough to run the football well in the country.”

“It is sad that the leaders only prefer to brag and boss around rather than being creative thinkers to help propel our football to a higher level,” he added.

“The delay of our league is clear proof that the Football Association lacks seriousness in running our local league.”

“It is sad that there are no well-defined systems to help curb the persistent problems.”

However the tough talking administrator claimed all was not lost.

“Our football could still be reinvigorated when the leaders wake up from their slumber and begin thinking positively.”

Two main litigations must be cleared before the 16-team competition could commence.

Dream FC’s promotion to the Ghana Premier League is being challenged by Tema Youth, which has been dragged to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) while Techiman City are facing bribery claims against Wa Africa United.
