Ghana’s World Cup Group opponents Germany have been hit with another injury blow after Heiko Westermann was ruled out of the tournament.
The German team said in a statement on Sunday that Westermann had been injured in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Hungary.
Westermann is a defender but had also been seen as an option to cover in midfield following the injuries that have ruled out Michael Ballack and Christian Traesch.
Ghana play Germany on 23 June at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg.
