Majeed Waris was on the score sheet to send Lorient to the next round of the French Cup.
The Ghana international scored from the spot kick as his side defeated a resilient FC Tours side 3-2 in the French Cup round of 64 tie.
Waris opened the scoring in the 29th minute from the penalty spot but the scores were levelled on the 50th minutes through Ibrahima Tandia.
Lorient took the lead again through midfielder Romain Philippoteaux seven minutes later.
Tours got in the equaliser from Haris Belkebla in the 64th minute, but Benjamin Jeannot popped up to score the match winner in the 99th minute of extra time.
