Asamoah Gyan select side called G-Unit managed to beat Metro TV 8-5 at the Kotobabi Wembley Park under floodlight in a friendly encounter.
Some of the notable players and ex-footballers who featured for the Gyan IX were Baffour Gyan, Peter Ofori Quaye, Awuley Quaye Jnr., Takyi Mensah, Ahmed Barusso, all former Black Stars players, Andy Kwaku Obeng, a former player for Kumasi based King Faisal.
Asamoah Gyan, the all-time leading topscorer of the Black Stars was the difference between his IX and the Metro TV team as his four aided the G-nut to carry the day.
Michael Oduro a sports host of Metro TV also made a huge impact by hitting a brace for his side. The likes of Laryea Kingston, Yusif Chibsah, both ex-Black Stars players, Kwabena Kwabena and Jupiter, both musicians played as guest players for Metro TV.
