Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, has appealed to members of Nkoranza District Assembly to bury their political differences for the rapid development of the area.
Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi gave the advice when he addressed members of the assembly at the close of its first ordinary meeting of the fifth session at Nkoranza.
He urged the members to place the growth of the district above their personal interests and to spearhead development programmes in their communities.
He said as opinion leaders they needed to educate the people about the good policies of the government so they could assist in their implementation.
On the outbreak of the bird flu in the country, Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi appealed to the assembly members to encourage the people to report any unusual signs about their birds to officials of the veterinary service.
He also called on the members to educate the people about the re-denomination exercise to save them from fraudsters.
Major Derek Oduro (rtd), MP for Nkoranza North, called on members of the assembly to organize their communities to undertake fund raising activities to raise funds to finance development projects.
He told them to respect and collaborate with traditional authorities to help accelerate development in their areas.
