Portland Timbers took an early lead in the game with Diego Valeri putting Adam Kwarasey’s side up in the first minute.

Timbers added a second six minutes later via Rodney Wallace with Harrison Afful’s Columbus Crew SC struggling to get back into the game.

Columbus Crew SC finally found their breakthrough with Kei Ansu Kamara scoring to pull one back before the first half break.
