The Ghana Football Association is sweating on an opponent for a friendly game in Paris during the Black Stars’ camping in France, but insist it would not affect their plans for the 2010 World Cup.
The GFA has marked May 27 down as a potential friendly international date in Paris, two days before they round up their camp in France, but GFA vice-president and Black Stars management committee chairman Fred Pappoe says nothing is confirmed yet.
“We would want to play a friendly game in France whiles we are camped there, he tells KickOffGhana.com “It’s something we have not come to an agreement on. We have a number of potential opponents, but they would want us to play at other venues in Europe and we do not want that. We think it would be too much travelling and running around.
“The fact of the matter is that we are prepared to do without that friendly. If we do not get a friendly then no sweat, we would spend the time profitably.”
Ghana has two confirmed games against Holland on June 1 and Latvia in Milton Keynes, England on June 5 before travelling to South Africa the following day.
