A new salary structure agreed for health workers will come into effect from June this year.
However, it is uncertain whether the adjustment described as marginal will meet the demands of the workers. Pharmacists, nurses and other paramedics should be returning to post by Tuesday.
After several hours of meeting on Monday, the National Council of the Health Workers Group directed members to respect the just ended strike, whiles the leadership finalises negotiations with government on their grievances.
The leaders said most of their concerns have been addressed.
The leadership of the health workers told members’ government has addressed 75 percent of their concerns. They said health workers now have singular salary structure and marginal increase in salaries.
Without providing details, the President of the Group, Mr Raymond Tetteh told his colleagues the concern about equal pay for equal value has also been addressed.
However, he said demand for the salary adjustment to take retrospective effect is still under discussion.
A technical committee has also been set up to deal with any anomalies in the new salary structure.
