Kessben break Hearts’ heart

A stunning come back from Kessben FC badly dented any dreams of Accra Hearts of Oak retaining their league title. The Phobians were up by two goals to nil in the first half but a superb second half performance ensured that the champions left the Anane Boateng Stadium empty handed, and potentially will end the season empty handed as well. Three goals to two it ended in favour of the host, a result which boosts the title aspirations of the league leaders Ashantigold who secured a priceless, yet surprising 1-0 victory over rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Debutants Aduana Stars pushed for a champions league slot with a well deserved 2-0 victory over RTU. Aduana Stars are second on the table trailing Ashgold by three points and one point ahead of Hearts of Oak. With the dust at the apex of the league table settling, the relegation dog fight got even keener. Hasaacas already destined for division one needed compatriots to accompany them and RTU, Olympics and Eleven Wise were the potential candidates. A thrilling straight fight between Olympics and Sekondi Eleven Wise at the El-wak Sports Stadium ended 1-1 with the threat of relegation still looming to both of them. Hasaacas had nothing to lose and nothing to gain, and they lost 0-2 to King Faisal. In other results, Beechem Chelsea shared the spoils in a 1-1 drawn game with Liberty Prof. New Edubiase beat Hearts of Lions by 2 goals to 1, whilst All Stars beat Berekum Arsenals by 2 goals to nil.
