Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac will name his provisional 30-man World Cup squad on Tuesday 11 May, the Ghana Football Association has announced.
The decision is in accordance with Fifa regulations, which stipulates that participating teams must disclose their provisional squads exactly one month ahead of kick-off.
Rajevac will then pick his final 23-man squad on 1 June for the tournament which runs from 11 June to 11 July.
“The coach is expected in town next week before the naming of the squad will be done. This week, there have been reports of a provisional squad on some websites but that is untrue. We want to respect every player and do the right thing,” Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi said.
The selected players will group in Paris, France on 24 May to commence preparations for the World Cup finals.
Ghana will test their battle readiness against a local French side on 27 May before games against Holland on 1 June and Latvia on 5 June.
The Stars depart for South Africa on 6 June to finalize their preparations for their Group D opener against Serbia on 13 June at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Ghana will also play Australia on 19 June at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg before engaging Germany on 23 June at the Soccer City in Johannesburg.
