Managers of Accra Hearts of Oak are bent on changing the face of the club ahead of the centenary celebration next year.
Arguably the oldest club in the country, Accra Hearts of Oak have very little success to show out of the field.
Apart from a club secretariat, Hearts have no palpable property in terms of a training ground or a stadium of their own, in spite of their dominance in local and continental competitions.
The club is also said to be heavily indebted, a phenomenon which has culminated in internal bickering and which has sometimes led to axing of chairmen and club management team.
Board Chairman of the Club, Commodore Mensah told Joy Sports on Wednesday, a new dawn has come and club must rise to the occasion.
“History is urging us on to change the form, structure and outlook of Accra Hearts of Oak. To bring it up to the status of some of the big time clubs- AC Milan, Arsenal and Manchester, they are owned by shareholders and the structures are there.
“If ever there were birthday present we could give to Hearts of Oak this is what we want to do,” he told Ernest Koranteng.
He said they intend to float shares of the club for supporters to own the club.
Hearts of Oak will be 100 years in November 2011.
