The Omanhene of Tepa Traditional Area, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, has commended the government for its commitment to put up a hospital in the area to serve Tepa and its environs.
The hospital would be among the many projects that the Traditional Area has benefited from the reign of the Omanhene, who would celebrate his 10th anniversary this year.
The Tepa Traditional Council has donated 60 hectares for the hospital project, which is expected to reduce the burden of the people. When completed, the hospital would serve people not only in and around Tepa, but also the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions due to the proximity of Tepa to those areas.
Speaking to newsmen in his palace at Tepa, Nana Ampem said the people were looking up to the government for a speedy completion of the hospital project.
In his view, one of the best ways to create wealth was to provide the people with quality health care facilities because "a healthy nation is a wealthy nation".
The, hospital project was commenced by the previous administration and the current government has made moves to realise the objectives for which it was initiated.
Commenting on the spirit of volunteerism of the Tepa people, the Omanhene paid tribute to the religious organisations in the area and the citizens including those in the diaspora, for their immense contribution towards the development of the area.
He said the essence of leadership was to spearhead development among the citizenry hence his readiness to' offer every necessary assistance that would ensure the sustainable progress of the Traditional Area.
Tepa is to benefit also from another health facility, a health assistants' training school being undertaken by the Omanhene.
Buildings for the institution have already been put up and plans are afoot for the commencement of the school.
Other revenue generation projects undertaken bv t.he Tepahenc since his enthronement include the establishment of more than 20 farms, including livestock and cattle as well as stores.
Revenue from the projects is being used to fund development projects by the traditional council.
