Ebusua Dwarfs coach J.E Sarpong has explained the reason behind Avram Grant’s constant snubbing of home-based outfield players to the Black Stars.
According to Sarpong, the constant exodus of key players in the league leaves the Israeli no option but to overlook the local talents in the country.
Speaking at a seminar organized for local coaches by Avram Grant, Sarpong believed Grant’s hands were tied in relation to the local players
“When they keep on selling your birds, those birds that will lay the golden egg where do you get others.” he told Joy Sports
“So when I come to watch and I pick a player, I go to Europe, before I come back the player is gone because one player can make a difference in a team.”
“So what does it do?”
“What it does is that it tells me these people are not serious with me so I will deal with my professional players and let me go and stay in Europe and monitor the players there.”
“I will be waiting for the players you have sold in Europe.”
Sarpong led Cape Coast side Ebusua Dwarfs back to the Premiership only a year after being relegated to the Division One league.
