Some staff of the Ghana Statistical Service are embarking on a demonstration at the premises of the Statistical Service Wednesday morning to call for the dismissal of their boss, Dr Grace Bediako, the government statistician.
The aggrieved staff, most of them wearing red arm-bands and holding plarcards are accusing the government statistician of poor managerial systems she has put in place and which the workers say have led to the resignation of some senior staff of the service.
Dr Grace Bediako who is currently in Kumasi is also being accused of not aiding in the promotion of the staff of the service although most of them have upgraded themselves. Some of the workers they say, have degrees but are being paid salaries far less than what they deserve.
The Minister of Finance is reported to have summoned her back to Accra after workers presented a petition and she has been directed by the minister to hold a meeting with the aggrieved workers to resolve the fracas. This is coming after an earlier meeting ended abruptly last Friday.
