Officials of Bechem Chelsea are asking the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association to hasten its verdict on the 20th week league fixture against Kessben FC which ended abruptly.
Referee Silas Okine ended the match after an alleged Kessben supporter hurled missiles at him and Chelsea believes they have a right to the maximum points.
Chelsea are currently placed fourth from bottom and face relegation. They need the three points to enhance their position on the league table.
Public Relations Officer of Bechem Chelsea, Vincent Cofie in an interview said the Disciplinary Committee must decide quickly so they will know the next line of action to take.
Quoting sections of the FA’s own regulations, Mr Cuofie reiterated Chelsea’s right to the maximum points, accusing the disciplinary committee of taking too long to arrive at a decision.
Given the competitive nature of the league, it looks certain the DC’s verdict, whichever way it goes, will have a bearing on the league standings.
Interested teams who are likely to be affected by the verdict are all calling for a final decision to avoid any surprises, with five matches left for the 2009/10 league to close.
