The Ghana Football Association's Appeal Committee will on Thursday begin hearing into appeals filed by the four banned division one teams for allegedly engaging in match fixing.
Nania FC, Okwawu United, Mighty Jets and Great Mariners were demoted to Division Three after the Disciplinary committee found them guilty of fixing their matches during the Division One league play offs.
The committee fixed May 4th as the original date for the hearing but was forced to postpone after Mariners, Okwawu United and Mighty Jets pleaded for more time to prepare for the hearing.
The clubs claim they didn't receive sufficient notice to put together their defence when the cases were called last week. All four teams are appealing a one year ban of players and team officials plus the relegation to the third division.
In a related development, another Division One side Bolga Catholic Stars on Wednesday filed an appeal against an FA Disciplinary Committee decision that threw out their protest against Kwesi Nyantakyi' Wa All Stars.
Catholic Stars protested All Stars use of two players during their first division playoff match. Should the appeal fail, Wa All Stars will maintain their ticket from Zone I of the playoffs for the Premier league next season after winning all three matches in the middle league.
