Ghanaian player Jordan Ayew came off the substitutes' bench to score a consolation for his Aston Villa side in their English Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Aston Villa caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald named the Ghana international on the bench for the away game against Spurs. Jordan was however introduced into the game with seven minutes to the end of the first half, replacing Ashley Westwood.
Away side Aston Villa were down by an early Moussa Dembele goal when Jordan was introduced into the game and doubled their lead with Dele Alli making it 2-0 in Spurs’ favour going into the interval.
Jordan Ayew pulled one back for Aston Villa in the second half after his effort at goal deflected to beat Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
The former Olympique Marseille and FC Lorient man had a few other cracks at goal for his Villa side but was unable to find the back of the net again.
Harry Kane sealed the deal for home side Tottenham Hotspur to hand Mauricio Pochettino's side all three points with a 3-1 victory.
Jordan Ayew’s impressive performance and zeal to get his Aston Villa side back into the game will not go unnoticed by new manager Remi Garde who watched the game from the stands.
