Liverpool settled for a 1-1 draw at Anfield against Swiss side FC Sion in the Europa League on Thursday.
Adam Lallana gave Liverpool the lead just five minutes into the game, side-footing a low cross from Divock Origi into the net from 12 yards.
Sion equalised in the 18th minute, as Ebenezer Assifuah got in behind Nathaniel Clyne on a long ball over the top and slotted it under Simon Mignolet from a narrow angle.
Origi had a pair of chances to score himself in the first half, but that was all the Liverpool attack could manage.
Sion top Group B after two of six matchdays with four points, while Liverpool is second on two points after their second consecutive draw. The Reds are barely ahead of Bordeaux on goals scored after the French side managed a goalless draw at Rubin Kazan.
Erik Lamela scored and Tottenham held on to secure a 1-1 draw away to Monaco on Matchday 2 of the Europa League group stage on Thursday.
Spurs took the lead in the 35th minute as Lamela tapped home after Monaco keeper Danijel Subasic could only deflect Dele Alli's shot from the centre of the box.
It was Lamela's third goal in his last four games in all competitions.
Monaco equalised through Stephan El Shaarawy's header in the 81st minute and could have taken the lead moments later if not for a heroic diving clearance by Danny Rose.
Also in Group J, Qarabag defeated Anderlecht 1-0 though Richard Almeida's 36th-minute goal.
Tottenham lead the group on four points, one ahead of Qarabag and two ahead of Monaco.
Borussia Dortmund also could only manage a point away from home as they were held to a 1-1 draw by PAOK in Greece.
Robert Mak scored in the 34th minute for the home side and the Bundesliga side could not respond until the 72nd minute when Gonzalo Castro broke through to equalise.
Despite the result, Dortmund still lead Group C by a point after Krasnodar defeated Qabala 2-1 thanks to Fedor Smolov's 84th-minute winner.
Napoli used an outstanding strike from Gonzalo Higuain to defeat Legia Warsaw 2-0 in Group D.
Dries Mertens provided the opening goal with a header in the 53rd minute, before Higuain danced around defender at the top of the box before blasting a rocket into the top corner.
Napoli have six points from two games, as do Midtjylland, who won away to Club Brugge 3-1 with second-half goals from Pione Sisto, Paul Onuachu and Filip Novak.
Lazio rallied past Saint-Etienne 3-2 after the French side were reduced to nine men.
Moustapha Bayal Sall opened the scoring for ASSE following a set piece just six minutes in, but Ogenyi Onazi cancelled it out 15 minutes later
Robert Beric was sent off shortly afterward and Wesley Hoedt gave Lazio their first lead just after half-time.
Sall received a second yellow card, opening play for Lucas Biglia to score Lazio's third, and the nine men could not find a late equaliser after Kevin Monnet-Paquet's consolation goal.
Yevhen Seleznyov's goal allowed Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to defeat Rosenborg 1-0 in the other game in Group G.
In Group K, Schalke rolled to a 4-0 win at home over Asteras Tripoli as Franco Di Santo recorded a hat trick by half-time.

Fiorentina also won 4-0 in a dominating performance at Portuguese side Belenenses in Group I.
Federico Bernardeschi, Khouma Babacar, and Giuseppe Rossi provided the scoring, to go along with a Tonel own goal.
However, it's Basel who top Group I after winning their second straight game in the group, 2-0 over Lech Poznan.
Karol Linetty was sent off for the Polish side after earning a second yellow card just after half-time, and Birkir Bjarnason and Breel Embolo capitalised for Basel.
Celtic drew 2-2 against Fenerbahce at Parkhead in Group A as Fernandao scored either side of half-time to rally the Turkish side back from a two-goal deficit.
Celtic led through Leigh Griffiths' 28th-minute opener, and Kris Commons doubled their advantage four minutes later.
But Fernandao scored two minutes before the break and equalised three minutes afterward to secure their first point of the campaign.
Molde stayed top of Group A with a 1-1 draw at home against Ajax as Eirik Hestad's 8th-minute opener was enough to secure a point after Viktor Fischer's equaliser on a massive deflection for the former European champions.
Czech side Liberec delivered one of the day's bigger surprises by winning 1-0 at Marseille in Group F.
Vladimir Coufal delivered the only goal in the 84th minute after Marseille failed to clear a corner kick.
Braga are top of the group with two wins from two after Ahmed Hassan Koka's fifth-minute goal held up to supply a 1-0 win over Groningen.
Steffen Hofmann's goal gave Rapid Vienna a 1-0 win over Dinamo Minsk as the Austrian side took the lead in Group E.
Leo Baptistao scored the only goal of the game nine minutes into the second half and Villarreal secured a 1-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.
Partizan Belgrade are the surprise leaders in Group L after managing a 3-1 win at German side Augsburg.
Andrija Zivkovic scored twice to go with a Dong-Won Ji own goal, and the Bundesliga club could not rally even after Aleksandar Subic was sent off after 64 minutes.
AZ Alkmaar earned their first points in the group by defeating Athletico Bilbao 2-1.
Markus Henriksen scored 10 minutes into the second half, followed by an Eneko Boveda own goal, and although Aritz Aduriz drew one back the Spanish club could not level the score.
Besiktas and Sporting Lisbon played to a 1-1 draw in Group H, Gokhan Tore's goal on the hour mark cancelling out Bryan Ruiz's 16th-minute opener.
That result allowed Lokomotiv Moscow to top the group with a 2-0 win over Skenderbeu, Baye Oumar Niasse and Aleksandr Samedov providing the goals.
